Everyone deserves to eat. Through public policy and advocacy for federal nutrition programs, we continue to help Utahns fight food insecurity.

This past year has been particularly busy as we undertook several new initiatives. Early this year we hosted a series of online forums discussing the many faces of food insecurity in Utah and released four accompanying issue briefs available on UAH.org. This summer we partnered with the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) for the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). Our staff has never been as busy as when they were glued to the phones answering questions about SFMNP. And most recently, we kick started a new partnership with Salt Lake City School district Community Learning Centers to have staff on-site providing SNAP outreach.

While the last year has been busy, it has also been rewarding. The new initiatives above are in addition to the work we continue to do on a yearly basis. We continue to get the word out to struggling families on Summer Meals. We continue to work with Utah’s elderly population for Senior Meals and SNAP. We continue to provide SNAP training to new and old community partners from Washington County to Rich County. And we continue to speak year-round to our members of Congress about why federal nutrition programs are important and how they lift tens of thousands of Utah families out of poverty.

Every day Utahns Against Hunger can help struggling Utahns find resources to put food on the table. But we cannot do it without your help. Your donation will give us the opportunity and the flexibility to be able to help Utahns and to respond to ongoing and emerging policy issues.

This holiday season consider a donation to Utahns Against Hunger. It is with your help that we can continue our mission and help all Utahns fight food insecurity.
